Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born March 4th, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress as well as a comedian and writer. O'Hara has won a number awards, including the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was elected to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara made her debut as an actor in 1974 when she was in The Second City, an improv comedy group located in Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the next year, O'Hara and Candy began working on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984) and she earned the attention of critics for both her performance as a comedic actor and writer, securing a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for an Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
